Hacks can mean many things, but for the purposes of this page, hacks are generally any procedure, software, or hardware which change the manufacturers intended behavior of the device to something that benefits the end-users specific needs or lifestyle.

A basic hack might be something like using special button combinations to access a developer area or hidden setting to unlock some little-known function. e.g. If someone comes up with a procedure to enable using your stored songs as ring-tones before Apple provides an update for it.

A more extreme hack would be if someone finds a way to unlock or in some way use the phone with any carrier - maybe through a combination of iPhone and SIM hacking.

Please do not list hacks that promote an illegal activity (don't describe an iVirus that you wrote)

Current Hack List:
Access an interactive Shell
Make iPhone functions work (other than the phone) without activating it with a carrier (AT&T)
Alternative activation
Take the iPhone apart (includes removing the SIM)
Root password for iPhones

Fake Hacks:
Unlocked iPhones showing up on eBay are probably not real.
